ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on understanding how aggressive brain tumors, specifically gliomas and glioblastomas, affect brain activity and function. Researchers want to explore the connections between the tumor and the surrounding brain tissue, particularly in areas that show abnormal activity. By using special tools called cortical depth electrodes, they will measure brain activity at a very detailed level. Their goal is to learn more about how gliomas change brain function and to find better treatment options that could improve the quality of life for patients, particularly those experiencing epilepsy and cognitive issues after surgery.
To be eligible for this study, participants must be between 18 and 90 years old and have a confirmed diagnosis of glioblastoma that requires surgery. They should also be able to provide informed consent and be eligible for standard surgical procedures. However, those with certain conditions, such as a history of previous brain surgery or severe language difficulties, may not be able to participate. If you choose to take part in this study, you can expect to contribute to important research that may lead to new ways to help future patients with brain tumors.
