ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on helping mothers in Mexico learn how to respond to their infants' hunger and fullness cues, a practice known as Responsive Feeding. By teaching mothers to recognize these signals, the goal is to promote healthy eating habits in their babies and help prevent childhood obesity. The study will involve 144 mother-baby pairs, where some mothers will receive special training on Responsive Feeding techniques while others will not. Researchers will check in with the participating mothers at three different times: before the training, and then again three and six months later to see how effective the program is.
To be eligible for this trial, mothers need to be healthy and have a baby younger than six months. They should also know how to read and write, have access to a smartphone and the internet, and be willing to participate. Mothers who have had a complicated hospital stay after giving birth or whose babies have certain health issues will not be included. Participants can expect to learn valuable skills that could help them create a nurturing feeding environment for their babies, contributing to their child's long-term health.
