ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called BRinging Empowerment and Attention to Teen HEalth-T1D, is exploring how mindfulness can help teenagers with Type 1 diabetes (T1D) who might be feeling anxious or depressed. The study will test two virtual group programs: one focused on mindfulness techniques and another on diabetes education. The goal is to see if these programs can help improve mood and diabetes management for teens facing these challenges.
To be eligible for this study, participants must have had Type 1 diabetes for at least a year and show signs of depression or anxiety. Unfortunately, teens with certain developmental delays, those who are not fluent in English, or those with other serious health conditions won't be able to participate. If a teen joins the trial, they can expect to engage in online sessions with peers, learn helpful strategies, and receive support designed to improve both their mental health and diabetes care. The trial is currently not recruiting, but it aims to find effective ways to integrate these types of support into diabetes clinics in the future.
