ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring whether a supplement called Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) can enhance the benefits of endurance training for long-distance runners. Specifically, the researchers want to see if taking CoQ10 for four weeks can increase certain substances in the body that are linked to exercise and, in turn, improve mental functions like memory and focus.
To participate in this study, runners need to be male, have been training for at least two years, and run at least twice a week, with a personal best time for a 10k race of under 50 minutes. Participants will take either CoQ10 or a placebo (a dummy pill) every day for four weeks and will visit the lab for checkups during that time. They'll also keep a diary of their food and training. It's important to note that those who have taken certain supplements recently or have had injuries in the past six months won’t be eligible for this study.
