ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a procedure called secondary alveolar bone grafting (SABG) to help children with a condition known as an alveolar cleft. An alveolar cleft is a gap in the upper jaw that can affect the way teeth grow and the shape of the face. The goal of this trial is to see how effective SABG is in helping to rebuild the jawbone so that the teeth can come in properly, improve the shape of the nose, and prevent future growth issues. The trial is set to take place during a specific age range when children are around 8 to 12 years old, which is a crucial time for jaw development.
To be eligible for this trial, children must be generally healthy and have a unilateral (one-sided) alveolar cleft. However, they cannot have any serious dental problems, like infections, or certain medical conditions that could affect the surgery's success. Participants will undergo the SABG procedure, and doctors will monitor their recovery and the results of the surgery. This trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to provide important information on how this treatment can help children with this specific condition.
