ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, titled "Mechanisms of Mindfulness Intervention: Cognitive Flexibility Dose Manipulation," is designed to investigate how changes in a specific mental skill called cognitive flexibility can improve the effectiveness of mindfulness practices in reducing emotional distress. In simple terms, researchers want to find out if practicing mindfulness more often, along with developing the ability to adapt your thinking, can help people feel less emotionally troubled. They are also looking to see if having better cognitive flexibility plays a role in how well mindfulness helps with emotional distress.
To participate in this study, you need to be between 18 and 65 years old and have a certain level of emotional distress, as measured by a psychological scale. However, if you have certain mental health conditions, have participated in similar mindfulness studies for more than six weeks, or are at risk of suicide, you may not be eligible. The trial is not yet recruiting participants, but once it starts, those who qualify can expect to engage in mindfulness practices and cognitive exercises that aim to improve their emotional well-being.
