ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at how virtual reality, including cartoons and games, can help reduce fear, anxiety, and pain in children aged 7 to 12 who are scheduled to have circumcision. The study will take place at the İzmir Bakırçay University Çiğli and Training and Research Hospital from September 2024 to September 2025. Children who are eligible to participate must be between 7 and 12 years old, have not had any previous surgeries, and must be hospitalized for the circumcision procedure. Both the child and their parent or guardian need to agree to take part in the study.

Participants in the trial can expect to engage with virtual reality experiences while they prepare for their surgery. The researchers will use surveys and forms to measure how the children feel before, during, and after the procedure, looking specifically at their levels of fear, anxiety, and pain. This study aims to find out if using virtual reality can make the experience of circumcision more comfortable for kids. If you think your child might be eligible and interested in this study, it could provide an exciting way to help them cope with their upcoming surgery.
