ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new way to help people manage their Type 2 Diabetes in Nepal by using text messages on their mobile phones. The goal is to see if receiving regular text reminders and support can improve how well patients take care of their diabetes compared to those who only get standard medical care. The study will involve 154 adults aged 18 and older who have been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes and can read text messages. Participants will be randomly placed in either the group that receives the text messages or the group that receives only standard care.
If you decide to participate, you can expect to be involved for six months. During this time, researchers will collect information about your diabetes management, including your blood sugar levels and how well you’re able to manage your condition day-to-day. The study aims to find out if the text-based support makes a real difference in your health and quality of life. This trial is important because it could show how technology can help people with diabetes in low-resource settings like Nepal.
