ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is comparing two methods of taking dental impressions for preschoolers to see which one causes less discomfort and anxiety. Taking impressions is an important part of dental care, but it can be difficult and scary for young children. The study will involve 666 children aged 4 to 6 years, who will be divided into two groups. One group will have their impressions taken using a digital scanner, while the other group will have traditional impressions made with a material called alginate. Researchers will measure how uncomfortable the children feel, their level of dental anxiety, how they behave during the process, and how long each method takes.
To participate, children should have a specific level of cooperation during their pre-dental assessment, have no previous dental experiences, and their parents must agree to take part in the trial. Children with certain disabilities or dental issues won't be eligible. This study aims to find a kinder, more comfortable way to take dental impressions for kids, which could help reduce their fear of visiting the dentist in the future.
