ClinConnect Summary
The mHealth Behavior Study is a research trial designed to see if a simple task done on a smartphone can help reduce alcohol use and risky sexual behaviors in women aged 18 to 25 who have experienced sexual assault or unwanted sexual experiences. Researchers want to find out if this smartphone task can change how these women think about alcohol and condom use, and ultimately, if it can lead to safer choices regarding drinking and sex.
To participate, women must have a history of sexual assault, drink alcohol moderately (at least seven drinks a week), and have had unprotected sex with a casual partner at least three times in the past three months. Participants will start with some questionnaires, then complete either the main smartphone task or a control task (which doesn’t have the same focus) for four days in a row. After that, they will answer follow-up questions one week later and again three months later. This study is currently recruiting participants, and it's an opportunity to contribute to important research that could help improve health and safety for young women.
