Mechanical Power Optimum Peep Laparoscopic Abdominal Surgery Mechanical Ventilation

ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how different levels of pressure in the lungs, called positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP), affect the amount of mechanical power used during laparoscopic surgeries. The main goal is to find out whether using the optimum PEEP can help improve patient outcomes compared to standard levels during these types of surgeries. If you are between the ages of 65 and 74, in good health without major lung or heart conditions, and are undergoing surgery with controlled ventilation, you may be eligible to participate.

Participants in the study will receive standard care during their surgery, and researchers will monitor the effects of the PEEP settings on their breathing support. To be included, you should be able to agree to join the study, not have any serious health issues that could complicate your surgery, and be able to return to normal breathing after the operation. It’s important to note that individuals who experience serious issues during surgery or have certain neurological or psychiatric conditions will not be included. This study is currently recruiting participants, and your involvement could help improve the care provided during laparoscopic surgeries in the future.
