ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called "Health, Stress, and Resilience Among Latino Families in the US," is studying a program designed to help families improve their health and well-being. The program, named SER Familia, consists of six sessions led by community health workers. It aims to reduce stress from adjusting to life in a new country, strengthen family bonds, and help families access community resources. The goal is to prevent issues like substance abuse, intimate partner violence, depression, anxiety, and HIV risk among parents and their children aged 12 to 17.
To participate in this trial, you must be a Hispanic/Latino/a/x/e first-generation immigrant parent with a child between 12 and 17 years old. Participants should be comfortable speaking English and/or Spanish. Families planning to move within the next two years will not be eligible. If you join, you can expect to engage in supportive discussions and activities that aim to promote resilience and better health within your family. This is a great opportunity to connect with others in your community while learning valuable skills for navigating challenges together.
