ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how digital follow-up for aerobic exercise can help people with severe mental disorders. Researchers want to see if using an app called HelsaMi, along with regular exercise support, can encourage participants to stick to their exercise routines and improve their physical fitness, especially their oxygen intake. The trial also aims to understand how this approach affects heart health, daily functioning, quality of life, and overall satisfaction. By learning more about these factors, the study hopes to find effective ways to help improve health as people age.
To participate in this trial, individuals should be between 18 and 65 years old and currently receiving outpatient mental health treatment at St. Olavs Hospital. Both men and women who can safely engage in exercise training are welcome to join. Participants will use the HelsaMi app to track their exercise and receive support throughout the study. It’s important to note that those with certain health conditions that could make exercise unsafe, or those currently in acute psychiatric care, won’t be eligible to participate. This study could provide valuable insights into how digital tools can promote better health and well-being for people with mental health challenges.
