ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is focused on creating and testing a new tool to assess the condition of the mouth for patients who are intubated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Intubation is a procedure where a tube is placed in the throat to help patients breathe, and it can sometimes cause problems in the mouth that affect their recovery. The goal of this study is to determine how well this new assessment tool works for evaluating oral health in adult patients who have undergone this procedure.

To participate in this trial, individuals need to be 18 years or older and currently hospitalized in an adult ICU, either for medical or surgical reasons. They must also be undergoing oro-tracheal intubation. Participants will provide consent, either personally or through a legal representative, and they cannot have certain oral conditions or be in specific legal situations that would prevent them from taking part. This study is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to improve the care and recovery of intubated patients by ensuring their oral health is properly assessed and managed.
