ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a special training program designed to improve vision skills in adults with mild intellectual disabilities. The goal is to see if this training can help improve thinking abilities, like controlling impulses, and enhance physical fitness, such as balance and strength. Over 16 weeks, participants will be divided into different groups: one will receive the vision training, another will undergo a similar training but with breaks, and the last group will not receive any training. Researchers will measure changes in cognitive performance and physical fitness at the beginning, halfway through, and at the end of the study.
To participate in this trial, individuals need to be between the ages of 40 and 70 and have mild intellectual disabilities, which means their IQ is between 51 and 69. However, those who cannot understand basic verbal communication, rely heavily on others for assistance, or have other health issues that might affect their ability to exercise will not be eligible. If you qualify, you can expect to engage in training sessions that could potentially boost both your thinking skills and physical abilities, contributing to healthier aging.
