ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring a new way to help people quit smoking by combining cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) with personalized physical activity plans and the use of a fitness tracker called the Fitbit Versa 3®. The goal is to see if this combined approach helps smokers not only stop smoking but also become more active and improve their mental health. The study will include about 128 adult smokers who smoke at least 10 cigarettes a day. To participate, you need to be 18 years or older and not currently receiving any other treatments for quitting smoking.
Participants will be randomly assigned to one of two groups. One group will receive CBT along with a personalized activity plan and the Fitbit, while the other group will only get CBT and the activity plan. Throughout the trial, researchers will check how well participants stick to the program, how effective it is at helping them quit smoking, and whether it improves their physical activity and mental well-being. This study is currently recruiting participants, and it’s important to note that individuals with certain mental health conditions or who are receiving other smoking cessation treatments may not be eligible to join.
