ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called AI-RONA, is studying a new eye screening program designed to detect glaucoma and other eye conditions like diabetic retinopathy and cataracts at certain health clinics. The program uses an artificial intelligence (AI) tool to help identify people who may have these conditions. The trial aims to find out if this AI-assisted screening is better at detecting eye issues compared to traditional methods, how well participants follow up with eye doctors after the screening, and whether both patients and doctors are satisfied with the screening process.
To participate, you may be eligible if you are an African American or Hispanic adult aged 40 or older, a non-Hispanic white adult aged 50 or older, or if you are 18 or older with type 1 or type 2 diabetes, a known eye condition related to glaucoma, or a family history of glaucoma. Participants will receive an eye screening and, if needed, will be referred to an eye doctor for a more detailed exam. After the screening, both participants and their doctors will fill out a survey to share their thoughts on the program. This trial is not yet recruiting, so it's a great opportunity to learn more about eye health and how technology can help.
