ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is investigating how emergency care providers can recognize and change their implicit biases—unconscious attitudes that might affect their decisions and interactions with patients. Implicit bias can influence the quality of care patients receive, especially in busy emergency rooms. The study will provide special training to healthcare staff at the Sarasota campus, aiming to see if this education helps them become more aware of their biases and change their behavior for the better. In comparison, staff at the Venice campus will not receive this training, allowing researchers to measure any differences in attitudes and behaviors between the two groups.
To participate in this study, individuals must be at least 18 years old and currently working as emergency medicine staff at either the Sarasota or Venice campus. Participants should be willing to understand the study's requirements and provide consent to take part. While the trial is not yet recruiting, it aims to gather important insights that could improve patient care in emergency settings.
