ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at how well patients with chronic low back pain can identify the main cause of their pain after receiving some educational materials. Participants will be shown a presentation with information and images about different conditions that can cause low back pain, such as a herniated disc or arthritis. Some patients will see a detailed presentation, while a smaller group will view a shorter version. After reviewing the materials, patients will be asked to name the two most likely causes of their pain, and these answers will be compared to those of their doctors.

To participate in this trial, you need to be over 18 years old and have been experiencing low back pain or sciatica for more than three months. However, if you have been referred for a specific test or already have a diagnosis, you won’t be eligible. This study aims to help patients better understand their pain and improve communication with their healthcare providers. If you choose to take part, you’ll gain useful information about your condition while helping researchers learn more about patient self-diagnosis.
