ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how abdominal massage can help improve stomach and bowel function in patients who are on mechanical ventilation and receiving nutrition through a feeding tube in intensive care units. The goal is to see if this gentle massage can make a difference for these patients, who may struggle with issues related to their digestion.
To be eligible to participate, patients must be over 18 years old, have been on a breathing machine and receiving enteral nutrition (nutrition through a tube) for at least five days, and not have any severe abdominal problems or recent surgeries. Participants will receive abdominal massages as part of the study, and their digestive health will be monitored. It’s important to know that patients must have approval from a close family member to join the study, and they need to be in stable condition to participate. This research could help improve care for patients in intensive care by finding effective ways to support their digestive health.
