Class Ii Mandibular Advancement Twin Block

ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking to compare two types of dental appliances, the aesthetic functional appliance and the Twin Block, to see how well they help correct a condition called skeletal Class II malocclusion in growing boys and girls. Skeletal Class II means that the upper jaw is positioned too far forward compared to the lower jaw, which can affect how the teeth align and how the face looks. The trial aims to understand how these appliances impact the bones, teeth, and soft tissues in the mouth.

To participate in this study, children and teenagers between the ages of 2 and 18 may be eligible if they have a specific jaw relationship (with certain measurements) and are still growing. They should not have had any previous orthodontic treatment and should not have any developmental issues or jaw joint problems. While the trial is not yet recruiting participants, those who join can expect to be closely monitored while using one of the two appliances to see which one works better for correcting their jaw position. The findings could help improve future treatments for children with similar issues.
