ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring a new way to treat immature teeth with infected pulp, which is the soft tissue inside the tooth. Researchers want to see if using a special laser to activate a treatment made from tiny particles (nanoparticles) can help patients feel less pain after the procedure and improve the chances of the tooth healing successfully compared to a standard treatment that uses a common disinfectant (sodium hypochlorite). This study will involve patients with specific types of teeth, particularly those that are still growing and have an open tip (apex) of more than 1 millimeter.
To participate in the trial, candidates must have a necrotic (infected) maxillary incisor (front tooth) that can still be treated and restored. They should also be in good health overall, without any diseases that could interfere with healing. Unfortunately, people with teeth that cannot be saved, those with certain types of root damage, or with fully developed roots won't be eligible. If chosen to participate, patients can expect to receive either the new laser treatment or the standard treatment during their dental visit, and they will be monitored to see how well the tooth heals and how much pain they experience afterward.
