ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a new way to measure a specific type of oxygen level in the blood called mixed venous oxygen saturation (SvO2) using a method called capnodynamic monitoring. This method is being compared to the traditional way of measuring SvO2 with a device called a pulmonary artery catheter, which is often used in patients who have serious breathing or heart issues. The goal is to see if the capnodynamic method is just as accurate, and if it could potentially replace the older method in certain situations.
To participate in this trial, people need to be over 18 years old and under controlled mechanical ventilation, meaning they require assistance to breathe. They must also be in a situation where their doctor believes that monitoring their oxygen levels would help in making important treatment decisions. However, those who cannot give consent or do not need invasive ventilation cannot participate. The trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to improve how doctors monitor patients’ oxygen levels in critical care settings, which could lead to better patient care.

Eligibility criteria
- Inclusion Criteria:
- • Age \> 18 years
- • Not participating in any other interventional study at the time of the study.
- • Patients under controlled mechanical ventilation in passive conditions.
- • Situations where the responsible physician deems that, for the benefit of clinical management and therapeutic decision-making, the patient would benefit from the placement of a pulmonary artery catheter (Swan-Ganz) and/or monitoring of central or mixed venous saturation.
- • Obtaining informed consent.
- Exclusion Criteria:
