ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at a procedure called transcatheter closure to treat a heart condition known as Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA) in children. PDA is a condition where a blood vessel called the ductus arteriosus does not close properly after birth, which can lead to problems with blood flow. The goal of the study is to evaluate how effective and safe this procedure is for children aged 6 months to 16 years who have been confirmed to have PDA through an imaging test called echocardiography.

To be eligible for this trial, children must be between 6 months and 16 years old and have a confirmed diagnosis of PDA. Unfortunately, children younger than 6 months or older than 16 years, or those who cannot safely have this procedure, cannot participate. If a child is enrolled in the trial, they can expect to undergo the transcatheter closure procedure at a Pediatric Cardiology Unit, and their progress will be monitored over the next three years to assess the outcome of the treatment. This trial is currently not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to help improve future treatments for children with this condition.
