ClinConnect Summary
The Observatory of the Lille Paediatric Allergy Unit is a clinical trial aimed at understanding food allergies in children. The main goal of this study is to collect detailed information about children who may benefit from a treatment called oral immunotherapy, where small amounts of the allergenic food are given to help the body build tolerance. The research will focus on common allergens like hazelnuts, cashew nuts, pistachios, and others, gathering important data that could help improve allergy treatments in the future.
To participate in this trial, children must be under 15 years and 9 months old and have a confirmed food allergy, which is usually determined through a specific allergy test. They should be willing to try oral food challenges with certain allergens, including peanuts, milk, and eggs, among others. Participants will be actively involved in the study, helping researchers learn more about food allergies while potentially finding new ways to manage their condition. It’s important to note that children who have already undergone an oral challenge for the same allergen or who do not wish to participate will not be eligible for this study.
