ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new technique called Transcranial Pulse Stimulation (TPS), which is a way to stimulate specific areas of the brain without surgery. Researchers want to see how TPS affects thinking, behavior, and emotions by targeting two areas of the brain known as the anterior insula cortex and dorsal anterior cingulate cortex. Although TPS has shown promise in treating conditions like Alzheimer’s disease and depression, this is the first study focusing on healthy adults to understand how it works.
To participate in this trial, individuals need to be between 18 and 65 years old and in good physical and mental health. They should be able to understand and follow the study instructions. Unfortunately, those with major health issues, certain neurological or mental disorders, or who have specific medical devices in their body will not be eligible. Participants in this study can expect to receive either the real stimulation or a placebo (a treatment that looks the same but has no active effect) while researchers monitor changes in their cognitive and emotional functions. This study is currently looking for volunteers, and it offers a chance to contribute to our understanding of brain stimulation techniques.
