ClinConnect Summary
The ORal-motor Assessment and Rehabilitation Mobile App (ORAR App) trial is studying how people who have had a stroke communicate and move their mouths. Researchers want to create a detailed database that includes videos and assessments of how both healthy adults and stroke patients perform oral-facial movements. By using a mobile app with artificial intelligence, they hope to better understand the relationship between visual assessments and evaluations made by speech-language therapists.
To participate, you need to be between 20 and 85 years old and speak Cantonese fluently. If you are healthy, you should not have any serious illnesses or cognitive impairments. If you are a stroke patient, you should have a history of stroke and be able to follow simple commands. Participants will undergo assessments using the app and may help improve our understanding of oral motor functions, which could lead to better rehabilitation methods in the future.
