ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how sarcopenia, which means loss of muscle mass and strength, affects patients who are about to have knee replacement surgery (also known as knee arthroplasty). The study will also explore how getting a knee prosthesis might influence sarcopenia. Researchers want to learn more about this connection to help improve treatment and recovery for patients.
To participate in the trial, you need to be between 50 and 75 years old and scheduled for knee replacement surgery. You will need to agree to join the study and sign a consent form. Unfortunately, if you have a history of cancer or certain muscle and nerve diseases, you won’t be eligible. If you take part, you can expect to help researchers understand how these two issues relate, which could benefit future patients facing similar situations. This study is currently not recruiting participants yet, but it aims to gather important information that could enhance recovery for many people.
