ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how kidney failure affects the body’s immune response to vaccinations, specifically the influenza vaccine, in patients undergoing chronic dialysis. The researchers want to find out if patients with kidney failure develop fewer protective antibodies after getting vaccinated compared to people without kidney issues. This is important because understanding the differences in vaccine response can help improve healthcare for those with chronic kidney disease.
To participate in the trial, you need to be between 18 and 70 years old and either be undergoing hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis for at least three months, or be a healthy individual without kidney problems. If you join the study, you’ll receive the flu vaccine and then visit the clinic several times over the next few months to provide blood samples and health information. The trial is currently not recruiting participants yet, but it aims to gather valuable insights about vaccine effectiveness in people with kidney disease.
