ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the relationship between weather changes, specifically fluctuations in atmospheric pressure, and the onset of symptoms in patients experiencing a hypertensive crisis. A hypertensive crisis is when blood pressure levels reach very high numbers, specifically 180 or more for the top number (systolic) or 110 or more for the bottom number (diastolic). The researchers want to see if there is a connection between these weather changes and when patients come to the emergency department with high blood pressure.
To participate in this trial, you need to be at least 18 years old and have a hypertensive crisis. However, if you have serious complications from high blood pressure, have traveled to a different city in the last four days, or are pregnant, you won’t be eligible to join. If you do decide to participate, you can expect to be part of a study that may help improve understanding of how weather affects blood pressure, potentially leading to better treatments and alerts for future patients. The trial is currently recruiting participants, and everyone is welcome to apply, regardless of gender.
