ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking into why some patients have to stay in the hospital longer than expected after undergoing minimally invasive lung surgery, specifically thoracoscopic procedures like video-assisted or robot-assisted lung resections. These surgeries are generally known to reduce pain and complications, leading to quicker recoveries. Researchers want to find out what factors contribute to longer hospital stays, even when best practices, like the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocol, are being followed.
To be eligible for this study, participants need to be at least 18 years old and scheduled for elective lung surgery that involves removing part of the lung (like a lobectomy or segmentectomy) using minimally invasive techniques. People who are currently in the hospital for other reasons, have had traumatic lung injuries, or require urgent surgery won’t be included. Those who participate can expect to share their experiences and may help improve future care for other patients undergoing similar surgeries.
