ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called CREM, is studying how different types of physical exercise can help improve health and daily functioning in older adults. The researchers will invite 240 elderly individuals, aged 60 and above, who have not been active for at least three months, to participate in various exercise programs over 32 weeks. These programs include activities like walking, dancing, balance exercises, and weight training, all designed to be done twice a week for about 50 minutes. The goal is to see how these exercises impact important areas like walking speed, muscle strength, balance, and even mental sharpness.
To be eligible for the trial, participants need to have a doctor's approval to exercise and should be able to follow simple instructions. They should also be able to walk independently and not have any serious medical conditions that would make exercise unsafe. Throughout the study, participants will be assessed before, during, and after the exercise programs to measure their progress. This trial aims to determine which exercise methods are most effective for improving health in older adults, and it is not yet recruiting participants.
