ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how two different types of Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) can help improve the movement and independence of people with multiple sclerosis (MS). MS is a condition where the immune system mistakenly attacks the body, leading to problems with muscle control. The trial will compare a new method called multifield FES with a standard FES method to see which one works better for improving upper body skills in MS patients. Early results suggest that both methods help improve muscle tone, but the study aims to find out which one is more effective.
To take part in this trial, participants must be adults who can provide consent and do not have any major injuries or conditions affecting their arms, such as tendon issues or skin problems. They should also not have severe health issues or use a pacemaker. Participants can expect to receive one of the FES treatments and contribute to valuable research that could help others with MS in the future. It's important to know that the trial is not yet recruiting, so interested individuals will have to wait for it to start.
