ClinConnect Summary
The FILIP trial is studying how different types of fats in our diet can affect inflammation and other health markers related to conditions like type 2 diabetes and heart disease. Researchers want to understand if certain fats have different effects on inflammation levels, blood lipids (fats in the blood), blood sugar levels, and the gut bacteria that help with digestion.
If you're between the ages of 18 and 60 and are willing to follow a specific diet for the study, you might be eligible to participate. However, individuals with certain health conditions, such as diabetes or heart disease, or those who can't eat certain foods like dairy or gluten, won't be able to join. Participants can expect to follow the study diet and provide samples to measure how their body responds to the fats they consume. This trial is a chance to contribute to important research that could improve dietary recommendations for better health.
