ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how common abnormal Pap smears are among sexually active women of reproductive age who visit the Sohag University Hospital outpatient clinic. A Pap smear is a test that helps detect changes in the cervix that could lead to cervical cancer. The study aims to gather important information about the health of women in this age group, specifically looking at those who have not had a Pap smear in the past three years or those who have had an abnormal result before and are returning for follow-up.
To participate in this trial, women must be between 21 and 60 years old, not pregnant, and have not had a Pap smear in the last three years, or have had an abnormal result previously. However, women who have been treated for cervical cancer, have had a total hysterectomy (surgery to remove the uterus), or are currently pregnant are not eligible. Those who join the study can expect to have a Pap smear performed and will contribute to important research that could help improve cervical cancer screening and prevention for women in the future.
