ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on understanding how balance and posture are affected in people with feeding and eating disorders, like anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa. It aims to explore how improvements in balance might help individuals who struggle with these conditions, as poor balance can lead to difficulties in everyday activities and increase the risk of falls. With around 3 million people in Italy affected by these disorders, this study hopes to shed light on the connection between body weight changes and balance issues.
To participate in the trial, individuals must be between the ages of 18 and 65 and have a diagnosis of anorexia, bulimia, or another specified eating disorder. They should be able to walk independently or with minimal help and be capable of understanding and signing the consent form. Participants will undergo assessments related to their postural control and balance, and they can expect support throughout the study. It's important to note that those with certain medical conditions or who are unable to provide informed consent will not be eligible to join the trial.
