ClinConnect Summary
The SCORES Haptic Glove Study is researching a special glove that uses sensors to help understand how well people who have had a stroke can feel different sensations. The main goal is to test how safe and effective this glove is, which could lead to improvements in the device. Additionally, the study aims to create a new way to measure touch sensitivity based on information gathered from using the glove. Researchers will compare how effective robotic therapy is for helping stroke patients recover compared to traditional rehabilitation methods.
To participate in this study, you need to be between 18 and 85 years old and have had a stroke confirmed by a brain scan within the last six months. You should also have certain cognitive abilities, which will be assessed using a simple test. However, if you have serious mental health issues, problems that make it hard to follow therapy, or significant visual impairments, you won’t be able to join. Participants can expect to wear the glove during therapy sessions, which may help improve their feeling in the affected arm and overall recovery after a stroke. The study is not yet recruiting, so more information will be available soon.
