ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how quickly the stomach empties food after someone has experienced a traumatic injury. Researchers will use a special ultrasound technique to look at the stomach and measure how long it takes for food to move from the stomach into the intestines. Understanding gastric emptying time can help doctors manage anesthesia safely for patients who have had trauma.
To participate in this study, you need to be between the ages of 65 and 74 and have a relevant traumatic injury. However, if you have a life-threatening injury that needs immediate medical attention, or if you are underage or pregnant, you won’t be able to join. If you qualify, you can expect to undergo a series of ultrasound exams to monitor your stomach after your injury. This trial aims to improve the safety of anesthesia in trauma patients, which is important for better recovery outcomes.
