ClinConnect Summary
The BONSAI study is looking into how artificial intelligence (AI) can help doctors identify eye and brain conditions more quickly and accurately using pictures of the back of the eye, known as fundus photographs. This is especially important in emergency departments, where spotting serious issues like swelling of the optic nerve can be critical for patient safety. The goal is to improve the AI system so it can recognize a wider variety of problems, which will help doctors make better decisions and potentially save lives.
To participate in this study, patients must be 18 years or older and visit the emergency department at the Fondation Adolphe de Rothschild Hospital. Participants will need to give their consent and be covered by a social security plan. Those who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or under legal protection cannot take part. If you join the study, you'll contribute to building a collection of eye images that will help improve the AI technology, ultimately helping doctors provide better care for patients with eye and brain conditions.
