ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on understanding how intensive sports practice affects the health and well-being of children aged 8 to 15 years. The researchers aim to find out if having a body type that fits the demands of the sport can help young athletes feel better about themselves and reduce risky health behaviors. They will also look at how physical growth, changes in self-perception, and injuries relate to these athletes' overall health. The goal is to provide recommendations that will help these young athletes maintain good physical, mental, and social health now and in the future.
To participate in this study, children must be aged 8 to 15 and train for more hours each week than their age (for example, a 10-year-old should train for more than 10 hours a week). Parents or guardians will need to give written consent, and the child must be part of a social security system. It's important to note that children who have experienced menstruation for more than a year will not be eligible for the study. This trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to gather valuable insights on supporting young athletes in their sports journey.
