ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how certain blood markers might be linked to feelings of anxiety and agitation that children experience before and after surgery. Specifically, it will include children aged 5 to 12 years who are scheduled for various types of surgeries, such as eye surgery, urological surgery, and orthopedic surgery. The researchers believe that simple blood tests can help understand these feelings better, which could lead to improved care for young patients.
To participate in this study, children need to be generally healthy and classified as ASA I-II, which means they have a low risk of complications during surgery. However, children with certain conditions, like genetic disorders that affect the brain, or those with psychiatric or immune system disorders, will not be included in the trial. Since the study is not yet recruiting participants, families will have to wait for further announcements about when they can join. Overall, the goal is to better understand how to support children who feel anxious about surgery, ultimately helping them have a smoother experience.
