ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called the VIVA study, is exploring a new virtual rehabilitation program designed for people who have suffered spine fractures due to osteoporosis. These fractures can be painful and limit everyday activities, but currently, there are no standard rehabilitation programs to help patients recover. The research team has created a toolkit for VIVA based on feedback from patients and healthcare providers, and they want to see if this virtual program can effectively reduce pain and improve quality of life for those with spine fractures. Before launching a larger study, they are conducting a smaller pilot study in three provinces to test how practical it is to implement VIVA.
To take part in the study, you need to have had at least one vertebral fracture confirmed by a medical report in the last two years and be willing to attend virtual rehabilitation sessions once a week for eight weeks. You will also need a device with a camera and microphone, as well as internet access. This study is open to all adults aged 18 and older. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in a supportive online program that aims to help them manage their recovery from spine fractures. If you have specific health issues or are currently participating in a similar rehabilitation program, you may not be eligible to join.
