ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the best ways to predict and manage difficult intubation in critically ill pregnant women who have a condition called preeclampsia. Preeclampsia can make it harder for doctors to safely place a breathing tube during emergencies, which is crucial for patient safety. The researchers are comparing two different ultrasound techniques—one using two views and the other using five views—to see which is more effective at identifying patients who might have trouble with intubation. They will also compare these ultrasound methods to a traditional clinical assessment known as the El-Ganzouri Risk Index.
To be eligible for this study, participants must be critically ill women aged 18 to 60 who are having a cesarean section under general anesthesia due to preeclampsia. They should be able to understand the study and provide consent. However, women who have certain airway problems, are unconscious, or have learning difficulties will not be included. If you join the trial, you can expect to undergo ultrasound assessments and receive standard care during your procedure. This research aims to improve the safety of intubation for pregnant women with preeclampsia, ultimately helping to prevent serious complications.
