ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is exploring how artificial intelligence, specifically a program called ChatGPT, can help answer patients' questions about anesthesia before surgery. With a shortage of anesthesiologists, the goal is to see if AI can effectively provide information that typically takes up the time of these specialists. By doing so, anesthesiologists can focus on more complicated patient needs while still ensuring that patients feel informed and prepared for their surgery.

To participate in this study, you must be over 18 years old and scheduled for a non-cardiac surgery that requires an in-person consultation with an anesthesiologist. If you can communicate in English or French and are able to give informed consent on your own, you may be eligible to join. If you choose to participate, you can expect to interact with the AI to ask your questions about the anesthesia process, helping researchers understand how well it can assist patients like you. This trial aims to improve the overall experience for patients undergoing surgery and could have positive effects on the healthcare system as a whole.
