ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a treatment called uterine artery embolization (UAE) to help women who have symptoms from a condition known as uterine adenomyosis. Adenomyosis occurs when the tissue that normally lines the uterus grows into its walls, which can cause pain and heavy bleeding. The goal of this trial is to see how effective this less invasive procedure is for women who are experiencing these symptoms and might be considering a major surgery like a hysterectomy.
To participate in this study, women must be premenopausal and have adenomyosis that is causing symptoms. They should have either not found relief from other treatments or have chosen not to pursue them. However, women under 18, those with certain infections or cancers, and those who plan to become pregnant in the future are not eligible. Participants can expect to undergo a procedure that involves blocking the blood vessels supplying the uterus, which may help reduce their symptoms without needing major surgery. This trial is not yet recruiting participants, so there will be more information available as it starts.
