ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is exploring a program called "Commensality groups," which aims to help medical students who may be feeling overwhelmed or isolated during their clinical training. Medical students often face high levels of stress and burnout, especially at the end of their clinical rotations. The goal of this study is to see if creating small groups of students who meet monthly for a shared meal and guided conversations can improve their well-being and reduce feelings of loneliness. Each group will consist of 6-8 students and will be led by a resident to ensure that discussions stay positive and productive.

To be eligible for this study, you need to be a medical student currently doing your clinical rotations at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California. If you are not on a leave of absence or not enrolled in the program, you can participate. Over six months, participants can expect to meet regularly with their group to share experiences and support each other, which may help them feel more connected and fulfilled in their medical training. This trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it offers an exciting opportunity to explore new ways to support medical students during a challenging time in their education.
