ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring the best way to place a small tube, called a catheter, into the radial artery in the wrist for monitoring blood pressure and other important blood tests during surgery and in intensive care. The researchers want to find out if placing the catheter closer to the heart (proximal) or further away (distal) is more effective, quicker, and has fewer complications when using ultrasound to guide the procedure.
To be eligible for this trial, participants should be scheduled for elective surgery and have a physical status rated between I and III by the American Society of Anesthesiologists, meaning they are generally healthy or have mild to moderate health issues. Those with more serious health concerns, emergency surgeries, or certain conditions affecting blood flow or the cannulation site won't be included. If you join the study, you can expect to undergo this procedure with careful monitoring and support, contributing to valuable research that may improve patient care in the future.
