ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the best ways to manage pain after shoulder surgery, specifically shoulder arthroscopy. The researchers want to compare two different types of pain relief techniques: one that uses a combination of two nerve blocks (interscalene brachial plexus block and superficial cervical plexus block) and another that uses a different nerve block (serratus posterior superior intercostal plane block). The goal is to see which method provides better pain control after the surgery, helping patients to feel more comfortable and recover faster.
To participate in this trial, individuals must be between 18 and 65 years old and in generally good health (with a specific physical status classification). They should also have a body mass index (BMI) between 18 and 30 and be scheduled for elective shoulder surgery. Participants can expect to receive either of the two pain relief methods during their surgery and will be monitored afterwards to see how well they manage pain. It’s important to note that those with certain health conditions or past surgeries on the shoulder are not eligible for this study. This trial is currently recruiting participants, so there’s an opportunity for eligible individuals to contribute to important research that could help improve pain management after shoulder surgeries.
