ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how different types of education about bathing newborns can help first-time pregnant women during their last trimester of pregnancy. Specifically, it will compare video-based training with hands-on practice to see how these methods affect the women’s knowledge, anxiety, and bonding with their babies during the first bath. The trial aims to help new mothers feel more confident and connected to their newborns when it comes time to give them their first bath.
To be eligible for this study, participants must be women who are at least 18 years old, can speak and understand Turkish, and are in their third trimester of a healthy singleton pregnancy (meaning they are expecting one baby). They should also have never received training on newborn bathing before and must have access to a smartphone and the internet. Women who have certain complications, like premature labor or a baby needing intensive care, are not eligible. If you choose to participate, you can expect to learn valuable skills and information about bathing your newborn, which may help ease any worries you might have during this exciting time.
