ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the use of topical anesthesia, which is a numbing medication applied to the throat, during a procedure called intubation. Intubation is often necessary in emergency situations to help patients breathe. The researchers want to find out if using this numbing medication can improve the success rate of intubation on the first try, especially when using a special camera called video laryngoscopy to guide the process.
To participate in this study, you need to be at least 18 years old and in the emergency department requiring intubation. However, if you are pregnant, experiencing a cardiac emergency, or have a known allergy to a numbing medication called lidocaine, you would not be eligible to take part. If you join the trial, you can expect to receive the topical anesthesia before the intubation procedure, and your experience will be monitored by the medical team to gather important information about its effectiveness.
